Frequently Asked Questions
Straight answers to the questions we hear most often. Have one that's not here? Just call.
Do you offer a warranty on your work?
Warranty terms can vary by part, supplier, and repair type. We explain what applies to your approved repair before work begins, and if something does not feel right afterward, call the shop so we can review the work order and next step.
How long does a typical repair take?
It depends on what we're doing. Routine maintenance like oil changes, brake pads, and battery replacements is usually done same day — often within one to three hours. More involved repairs like engine or transmission work can take one to three days depending on parts availability and the complexity of the job. We'll give you a realistic time estimate before any work starts, and we call you with updates if anything changes.
Do I need an appointment?
Appointments are recommended and help us get you in and out faster. We do accept walk-ins when we have capacity, but for time-sensitive repairs or state inspections, booking ahead is always the better call. Give us a ring at (713) 880-2440 and we'll let you know our current availability.
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept all major credit and debit cards, cash, and checks. For larger repairs, we can discuss payment options — ask us when you call or come in. We'll give you a complete written estimate before any work starts so there are no surprises when it's time to settle up.
Can I drop off my car after hours?
After-hours drop-off may be available by arrangement. Call ahead at (713) 880-2440 so the shop can confirm the current drop-off process and put your vehicle on the schedule.
Do you work on all makes and models?
We service domestic and most major import vehicles — Ford, Chevrolet, GMC, Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Hyundai, Kia, Subaru, Mazda, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Volkswagen, and more. If you're not sure whether we can help with your specific vehicle or a particular repair, just call and we'll give you a straight answer.
What should I do if my check engine light comes on?
Don't panic, but don't ignore it either. A solid check engine light usually means you can drive to us without an emergency — just get it diagnosed soon. A flashing check engine light is more urgent — it indicates an active misfire that can damage the catalytic converter quickly. Reduce your speed and call us right away. Either way, guessing at the cause and replacing random parts almost always costs more than a proper diagnosis.
Do you offer loaner cars or shuttle service?
We don't offer loaner vehicles at this time, but we're happy to help you arrange a ride if you need to get somewhere while we work on your car. Many of our Heights, Garden Oaks, and Oak Forest customers find a short rideshare trip is all they need. If you'd like to wait at the shop, we have a comfortable waiting area and most routine services are done same day.
